The Swede can lift the trophy for the second time in four years.
The Open Championship heads to Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland this week.
Here are our best bets for the final major of the year.
Stenson to shine
Henrik Stenson produced a spectacular performance to win the Open Championship at Royal Troon in 2016 and recent form suggests he can challenge for a second Claret Jug at Royal Portrush this week.
After a low-key season, the Swede has clicked in recent starts and produced a run of three straight top 10s.
The latest came at last week’s Scottish Open where a closing 66 elevated him to tied fourth.
As well as his Troon win, Stenson has a trio of other top-three finishes in Opens so his links pedigree is well established.
Take the Ryder Cup star to lift the trophy for the second time in four years.
Count on Kuchar
Matt Kuchar is a good each-way bet for the Open (Kenny Smith/PA)
Eight of the last 10 Open winners had played the week before so it looked a smart move by American Matt Kuchar to come over and contest the Scottish Open.
He ticked over nicely to finish tied 20th at The Renaissance Club and that should give him a platform from which to try and win his first major.
Kuchar went mighty close at Royal Birkdale in 2017 when finishing runner-up to Jordan Spieth and he added tied ninth place at Carnoustie 12 months ago.
The 40-year-old is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour this season and has finished tied 12th, tied eighth and tied 16th respectively in the first three majors of the year.
He looks a strong each-way bet at Royal Portrush.
Glover fits the bill
Only six players have managed more top 10s on the PGA Tour this season than Lucas Glover.
The 2009 US Open winner has reeled off six of them, the latest pair coming on his two latest starts – tied seventh in the 3M Open and tied 10th in the John Deere Classic.
Glover was the halfway leader at the 2011 Open and posted tied 16th in the recent PGA Championship at Bethpage Black.
His putting stats are much improved this year and he looks capable of banking a top 10.
