Phil Neville’s side are bidding to reach back-to-back World Cup semi-finals.

England face Norway for a place in the semi-finals of the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France.

Here are our best bets for the match in Le Havre on Thursday evening.

England to reach final four again

Japan v England – FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 – Group D – Stade de Nice
Ellen White has enjoyed a prolific tournament (John Walton/PA)

England will aim to match their performance from the 2015 tournament when they take on the Norwegians.

Phil Neville’s Lionesses have won all four games in France, scoring eight times and conceding just once, while Norway lost to France in the group stages and were taken to penalties by Australia in the first knockout round before advancing 4-1 on penalties.

The two sides met at the round of 16 stage at the 2015 event in Canada with England prevailing thanks to a 2-1 victory.

England have got better as the tournament has gone on although Neville will be sweating on captain Steph Houghton’s ankle injury after she was the victim of a poor challenge late in the 3-0 win over Cameroon.

Ellen White has been in prolific form in the tournament so far, scoring four goals in three games, and has been a constant threat around goal, with 12 attempts, eight of them on target through the four games so far.

Take her to be on target again to fire England into the last four.

Goals aplenty

Isabell Herlovsen

Norway’s Isabell Herlovsen and White have both been a threat in front of goal to shoot their respective sides into the quarter-finals.

The teams have scored 15 times between them at the event so far and have netted in every game.

There is no reason to believe that will not be the case again on Thursday so it looks a smart choice to go for both teams to score.

England to finish strong

England v Cameroon – FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 – Round of Sixteen – Stade du Hainaut
Phil Neville’s side can capitalise on Norway’s late fallibility (Richard Sellers/PA)

Norway have not been as solid at the back as England in the tournament and a habit of conceding late goals can keep Neville’s side pushing forward until the final whistle.

The Grasshoppers have allowed three goals in the final 20 minutes of games and that will be a concern for coach Martin Sjogren.

England have won the second half in three of their four matches and we are backing the Lionesses to repeat the trick.

Recommended bets

Ellen White to score and England to win
Both teams to score
England to win second half

Takeaways

Ellen White has scored four goals in three games so far at the tournament.
England have won five straight games at the World Cup.
