Welcome back to Brooke’s Best Bits. Another top place finish for Homeandhosed, who ended the week head and shoulders above the rest. Homeandhosed recorded a weekly ROI of 138.4%, a huge 107% above 2nd placed interbet. Back in 3rd was Whisper with 23.2%. Whisper returned to form with some nice priced winners last week.
For the first time ever, the top 3 most connected pros of the week are the exact same as the week before! Except this time is was Birkdale who lead the way. Birkdale has a phenomenal record on betconnect, with an overall ROI of 73.2% from 146 bet requests. With another 44 new connections last week, Birkdale is up to 265 overall, and is closing the gap on dmoo92, the most connected pro on betconnect. Feltham1 was only 1 behind on 43. Then came benraw123 in 3rd again, gaining 10 more connections than the week before, with 39.
The ‘Best Bet of The Week’ is awarded to WoodwardRacing, and their bet on Rashaan over in Ireland last Monday. WoodwardRacing backed Rashaan at a massive 25/1 to land the Grade 2 contest at Fairyhouse. Rashaan attracted support throughout the day, eventually going off at 16/1. The task was made a whole lot easier when the classy Wicklow Brave, the joint 2nd favourite, fell early. At the 2nd last there were still 4 horses in with a chance, but Rashaan, under Grand National winner Davy Russell, quickly hit the front. The 16/1 shot stayed on well to take the €41,000 prize by just over a length. Congratulations to WoodwardRacing and all the punters that followed!
The extra category this week is the ‘Gamble of The Week’, and we head back over to Ireland. At around half 3 on Friday a gamble started on the horse Institution, who was running in the 17:30 at Kilbeggan, a 2 mile maiden hurdle. Institution was priced up at around 6/1, which is when we saw the first couple of bets on betconnect, by both Birkdale and benraw123. Next on was valuebetting2, who wanted 11/2, and then 9/2. DS93 then followed 15 minutes later, asking for 7/2. An incredible half an hour, shortening from 6/1 to 7/2! The price didn’t stop there however, as Institution was smashed into 6/4 joint favourite before the off!! Unfortunately the gamble didn’t pay off, as Institution ran well into 4th, but never looked like threatening the winner Flindt. The betconnect pros definitely saw the value there!
