Gunners face tough Hornets trip

Arsenal face a tough test on Monday as they look to rediscover their away form and boost their Premier League top-four hopes with a win at FA Cup finalists Watford.

Unai Emery’s men have managed to keep their bid for Champions League qualification alive by virtue of their impressive form at the Emirates Stadium this season as they have won 14 and drawn two of their 17 matches to date.

But it’s been a different story on the road as they have only won once of their last nine away games in the league and that was against already-relegated bottom side Huddersfield Town.

That was just their fifth win of the season from 15 attempts, while the Gunners have also failed to keep a clean sheet in any of those away matches this term so it is no surprise to see Watford to score is a best-price 13/50.

However, Arsenal boast a good record at Vicarage Road having won four of their last five trips to Hertfordshire and are 5/4 to come out on top again.

Watford will no doubt have one eye on next month’s FA Cup final against Chelsea so could be forgiven for taking their foot off the pedal in the league.

Javi Gracia will know that a seventh-placed finish is firmly in the Hornets sights and a win at 9/4 would move them into the position on 49 points.

Arsenal who will be without the suspended Sokratis Papastathopoulos and potentially Granit Xhaka, who faces a late fitness test, while the Hornets are missing injured trio Jose Holebas, Domingos Quina and Tom Cleverley for the game as they look to stretch their unbeaten run in the league on home soil to six games.

Watford have lost four of their last five games against top-six opposition, but are capable of getting some kind of a result from the Arsenal clash with a draw worthy of note at 14/5.
