Welcome back to ‘Brooke’s Best Bits’. After landing 4 of their last 5 selections, Homeandhosed finished the first week of April as the best performing pro. The highlight coming from Newcastle on Saturday, where Homeandhosed backed Ex S’elance at 9/1, 8/1 and 13/2. Ex S’elance continued to be backed in the market, and ended up going off as the 3/1 favourite! Ex S’elance won well, and contributed to Homeandhosed‘s weekly ROI of 160.5%. Back in 2nd was MbPunter who finished on a weekly ROI of 105.9%. Then came the new pro, nanasez, who had an excellent first week recording an ROI of 99.4%.
The very consistent Whisper gained the most connections last week with 30. I mentioned in last weeks ‘Brooke’s Best Bits’ that Whisper had recorded 4 winnings weeks out of 4, and that has now been made 5. I hope the winning run continues for all you punters that are following Whisper‘s bets! punter247 was next after gaining 23 new connections, and then came Birkdale who gained 21. Birkdale‘s overall ROI has dropped slightly over the last couple of weeks, but it still stands at a solid 64.0%.
This weeks ‘Best Bet of The Week’ goes to callumth1, and his bet on the weekends boxing. callumth1 backed the underdog Andrew Robinson at 11/4 in his fight against the unbeaten Pole, Damian Jonak. Jonak had a seriously impressive record of 41-0-1, but callumth1 saw value in the Brit to inflict Jonak’s first defeat. Robinson did just that, using his superior reach to his advantage, and picking his shots well. The fight went to the judges, and Robinson was awarded it on a split decision. Congratulations to callumth1 and all the punters that followed. What a great bet!
For the extra category this week we’ll be highlighting the pros that backed the winner of the 2019 Grand National. The winner was of course, Tiger Roll. The big talking point in the weeks leading up to the race was how short was Tiger Roll going to go off? On the day of the race the money didn’t really come as expected, and his price remained solid at 5/1, before returning an SP of 4/1. The 3 betconnect pros who saw his price as value were DS93, Morgana, and Tsmart28. Tiger Roll made history, as he became the first horse since the famous Red Rum to win back to back Grand Nationals. A much easier year to find the winner, but well done to the pros and punters that did!
