Relegation-threatened Fulham are the latest club tasked with trying to inflict a first defeat upon Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United in Saturday’s early game in the Premier League.
The Cottagers are in dire need of points in the scrap to avoid slipping down to the Championship as Claudio Ranieri’s side currently sit second-bottom, seven points from safety.
Things have not gone to plan since the former Leicester manager was brought in in November and Fulham appear to be heading for the second tier unless they can somehow turn things around – and quickly – in the remaining 13 games of the season.
However, they ideally do not want to be facing United this weekend as they are on the up under Solskjaer, who has yet to taste defeat since being appointed as Red Devils boss at least until the end of the season. The visitors are available at a best-price 7/11 to win, while a draw is 10/3.
There have been signs that a first loss for Manchester United under the guidance of the Norwegian is not far away, though, as they only just rescued a point when coming back from 2-0 down at home to Burnley last week before edging to a 1-0 win at Leicester City last weekend in a game that could have gone either way.
Those performances will give the Cottagers hope they can pick up a massive three points, on offer at around 19/4, but they will have to play better than they did last time out when going down to a 2-0 defeat at Crystal Palace if they are to secure a home victory.
Despite the odds not being in their favour, Fulham did beat Brighton 4-2 in their last game at Craven Cottage, while they were unfortunate to go down to a late 2-1 defeat at home to Spurs before that so if they can replicate that sort of form they will at least give themselves a chance.
Under Solskjaer, United will attack and goals look a certainty with a high-scoring 2-2 draw a possibility.
